“Sick music for sick people.” Reading this, we almost immediately think of GG Allin (or Kill Allen Wrench, or – okay – Anal Cunt) but don’t underestimate Geishas of Doom either. This homegrown lo-fi punk rock band consists of members of Giant Tiger Hooch, Love Supreme, Automatic Sam, ATLANTA, Birth of Joy, Tricklebolt and Shaking Godspeed, among others. The third EP “Sick Music For the Sickest People – Vol. 3” was written and recorded on a four-track cassette deck in just one day. The end result is a rambling indictment of ‘contemporary’ perfection, narcissism, polarization and hypocrisy. Inspired by the moment and 1980s American punk rock (Black Flag, Butthole Surfers, Sonic Youth, Dead Kennedys). Pretty clear which way this hurricane blows.
