After the tragic passing of Herman Brood in July 2001, the rock-‘n’-roll level in the Netherlands hit an all-time low. Suddenly, dangerous, unpredictable sex-drugs-and-rock-&-roll artists were a rare breed in our little polderland. But luckily, there was Amsterdam tattoo artist Dikke Dennis, who became known as the fourth band member/mascot of Peter Pan Speedrock.
For the past few years, this Nachtegaal uit de Jordaan (Nightingale of the Jordaan) has had his own loudmouth band: Dikke Dennis & De Røckers, delivering bone-crushing Dutch-language røck(-‘n’-røll) with bangers like Pre Historisch Beest, Geen Reet Te Doen, Rot Toch Op Man!, and of course, De Schoppen Aaaaaaaaas.
