SPLINTER

With a truckload of musical baggage in tow, four seasoned and award-winning musicians decided to form a band where a new, fresh punk energy had to burst forth. While their previous bands – Death Alley, Birth of Joy, and Vanderbuyst – mostly did heavier musical work, for Splinter pure fun and danceability are the point of focus. Unrestrained energy that translates into provocative songs that you immediately understand and that are easy on the ears, even though the music is a mix of styles that historically may clash. In short: Splinter stands for danceable rock, with a Hammond organ. Expect rock ‘n roll with 60s, 70s, and 80s influences and a manic little organ; a fresh style; light-footed; back to the (early) punk attitude of Blondie, The Stooges – but also of Turbonegro.
